Gmail (personal accounts)
Google limits personal Gmail accounts to roughly 500 emails per day. Exceeding the limit can temporarily block sending for up to 24 hours.
Guide
The published daily limits for the mailboxes most teams send from, and why your real outreach cap should be much lower.
In short
Google publishes a limit of about 500 emails per day for a personal Gmail account and 2,000 messages per day per user for Google Workspace (lower during trials). Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) allows up to 10,000 recipients per day and 30 messages per minute per mailbox. For cold outreach, stay far below these ceilings.
Google limits personal Gmail accounts to roughly 500 emails per day. Exceeding the limit can temporarily block sending for up to 24 hours.
Google Workspace allows 2,000 messages per user per day, with lower limits during trial periods and limits on the number of external and unique recipients. Check Google’s “Gmail sending limits in Google Workspace” page for the current numbers.
Exchange Online allows up to 10,000 recipients per day, 30 messages per minute, and 500 recipients per message for a mailbox. Your tenant admin may set lower limits, and SMTP AUTH must be enabled for apps to send.
Published limits are technical ceilings, not good practice. Cold outreach that runs near the ceiling attracts spam complaints and filtering. Many teams keep each mailbox to a modest daily volume and add mailboxes instead of pushing one harder. In Infiara you set a daily cap per mailbox and campaigns rotate across mailboxes by remaining cap.
Questions
Google may temporarily stop the account from sending, typically for up to 24 hours. Repeated violations can lead to longer restrictions.
Google and Microsoft use rolling 24-hour windows rather than a fixed midnight reset.
